This southern city possesses great influence of the German colonists who lived in the zone, It is reflected in its customs, architecture, and gastronomy. It possesses several natural attractions to visit, as the Rupanco, Llanquihue, and Puyehue Lakes.
It is known as the city park, since it possesses several squares located in the coast of the Damas and Rahue rivers. Also, it is outstanding for its historical buildings, as the Muse Histórico Municipal and the rail station, where nowadays is located the Interactive museum. It has a handicraft fair.
Some cultural festivals are realized, as the Festival de La Leche y La Carne, and celebrations for the public holidays, with beautiful fireworks.
